Hi, although I am on supressve Valtrex, I am pretty sure I have an outbreak inside of me. It feels very painful, almost like I have broken glass inside of me, and this is not when I urinate...just all the time. I had a chafing feeling outside the other day, but there was no visible sores or bumps. Is this still an outbreak?

That would be hard for us to know. How long has it been going on? If for quite a while, I think you'd better see a dr. Where does it feel like it's coming from? My herpes ob's are on the outside, but I've had the urinary stuff hurt from deep up in me.

that's happened to me twice, only for like an hour at a time, and it was always before or after a yeast infection or something. it was the most intense pain imaginable, my stomach got all twisted up in knots and tears started running down my face and i felt like i was gonna pass out. it felt exactly like broken glass like you described. that's the only "outbreak" i've ever experienced, and it could just be related to the yeast infection.

Hey there...I just had a similar experience. I had my initial outbreak at the end of November. After everything on the outside cleared up, I still saw some sores inside of me...though they didn't hurt unless I attempted to be physical with my boyfriend (which is why I looked in the first place). When I called my doctor he said I had a really bad outbreak and that it was just scarring from that. To me they looked like 2 bumps right there inside the opening. Not sure if that is what you have, but it could be scarring. I have had these "scars" for about a month now.

I think it may be an outbreak, because today I have a small outbreak on the outside which I can see . I was doing so well all summer with no outbreaks at all and now suddenly, it's back. I am on supressives, so don't know much more what I can do. I am at the end of my rope, today I feel so depressed because yet again I am reminded that this disease has a mind all of its own and not matter what steps I have taken ( and I have tried it all ), it comes back to attack me. Which type of herpes do you have, 1 or 2? A doctor i spoke to said it's "usually" type 1 which hurts a hell of a lot more than type 2. Type 2 tends to reoccur more, but with less pain. Then again, who knows, everybody seems to be affected so different.
