VERY normal. My son went through this too. He wanted constant interaction and attention for a couple months there, before he started to crawl learn to entertain himself. I think it's as simple as that. They can't entertain themselves and expect you to be at their beck and call! I know it gets old when you can't get anything else done because you have to be holding and playing with your baby every second. But it will pass and they learn some independence and how to really play.

My first child was like that. She rarely wanted to be held and was happiest when I would put her on a blanket on the floor with a few toys, some within reach, some just out of reach. Gave her something to do, trying to get the toys that were out of reach. She's a grown woman now and still gets bored easily. :)
