well i think it does differ for everyone and depends on what pill your taking..Some bc pills i was on made me feel like i had PMS all month although lighter periods but much worse moodiness, irritblilty, breast tendernes, breakouts etc..I recently went of the pill after being on it severeal yrs and trying many..PS my appetite was gretaer on the pill and i did gain like 8 pounds while on it..that part sucked..

i'm on the patch & i don't have much pms! i used to be horrible, i'd stay bloated about 2 weeks out of the whole month, then i'd be so moody & sensitive...i've been on the patch for over a year and a half & besides the first three months when my body was trying to adjust to it, i hardly ever have pms! i rarely cramp at all...the only thing is my breasts may become a little swollen & tender the week before...but atleast i know it's coming that way ;) best of luck!

I used to have really bad PMS but after being on the pill it isn't abd at all. It really depends on the pill and the person.

Most women get PMS because of the sudden change in hormones due to ovulation/getting a period. Since on the pill you are continously taking a steady dose of hormones, there isn't as much of a drastic change in hormones (especially with monophasic pills) that would cause PMS. You're taking a steady dose of hormones for three weeks and then your own natural hormones kick in during the placebo week, so there isn't a drastic change in hormone levels.

MY PMS was just as bad on the pill as off..anytime your tricking the body by using Hormones which is what BC pills are..your own hormones go bonkers..Some womens PMS might improves other might not..mine did not..
