I am sorry to be asking so many questions. I hate having to deal with birth control issues!! I am so frustrated. I have switched pills and it seems like we are going to have problems if we take the pill or if we don't. I can't decide on another form of bc. I stopped the pill three weeks ago b/c I was afraid the pill was making me dizzy, but I don't feel any difference and now I am afraid I made the wrong choice. Anyways, if I go back to the pill, I want to get the lowest one and I was wondering if anyone liked/disliked a pill called Alesse? Thanks for listening.

My sorority Big Sister loves Alesse. No weight gain or anything, although she said it did increase her sex drive A LOT! Her fiance didn't mind that though, haha!

Also, just wanted to add...you said you stopped taking the pill after 3 weeks....you really need to give it more time next time. Sometimes outside factors are really causing the "side effects" people think are from the pill. And a lot of the time, side effects go away after the first or second pack...most doctors recommend three packs and say side effects go away after that because your body becomes fully adjusted. So, just something you might want to keep in mind!! Hope that helps and good luck!

Ooh, Alesse, pill of my dreams..! (needless to say, I really liked it, and only stopped taking it because there were no more pills left for me to take.. (insurance, etc.)) Any side effects were really mild, I think my only complaint was PMS a bit.. and apparently I'm not the only one to get a libido boost on this pill.

What pills have you taken before? What side effects are you trying to avoid..?

I was on ALesse 2 seperate times..recently stopped a month ago I experienced alot of bleeing breakthrough or spotting as some call it.it made my appetite soar and skin went a little nuts..breast were very tender all month..i wasnt too impressed with it...my sex drive was really low on it also..moodiness was a factor too..

It seems like people either love it or they hate it. And, I'm one of the one's who hated it. I was on it for about 5 months and couldn't stand it any longer (my GYN told me to give it atleast 3 months). I got really bloated to the point where you could actually see my abdomen sticking out like I was pregnant. I gained about 8 lbs and always felt that bloating. I also had breakthrough bleeding throughout the month and terrible moodswings. I was never in the mood to do anything and I'd snap on people for no real reason. I was so glad to be off of it!

Maybe you should try the nuva ring instead... about half the hormones and easier to use... just pop it in and forget about it!!!!

for the first year or so alesse was great. no weight gain, no cramps, no acne, everything was perfect. then the past little while my skin became extremely oily, i gained some weight which i find impossible to lose if you are on the pill, i have some acne, ive become a little depressed, and i have NO sex drive at all. i went off the pill for about three months in the summer and everything went away except for the oily skin and i even lost some of the weight. i went back on it and it all came back so guess what? im off it again.
