I just recieved my last dose of chemotherapy two weeks ago after six months of treatments. I did not lose all of my hair, but most of it..it is VERY thin, and I do not leave the house without covering it. Before this, I had long, straight, thick hair, that normally grew decently fast. I am desperate to get my hair to grow again, lately I have not even wanted to leave the house...I can't stand it. Does anyone know how fast hair usually grows back after chemo? And does anyone have any suggestions on how to help it along? I started using Nioxin shampoo a few days ago, and I've been taking Prenatal vitamins (as reccomended by my hairdresser) for a few weeks to help it grow. I know I can't expect immediate results, but I am really going crazy and becoming very depressed...I can't stop thinking about it. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot.

Your hair will grow back really soon, don't worry too much about it. I lost all my hair to chemo for luekmia. My last chemo was last september when I had my bone marrow transplant, after that it took about 3 months until it started growing back which sounds like a lot but once it starts growing it REALLY COMES BACK FAST!! Although it may not come back the same colour or texture. Mine came back a lighter colour and wavy instead of my original straight. well good luck and have fun trying out different hair do's when it comes back. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
