I picked up the patch yesterday and decided to give it a try and see how my body likes it. I haven't used any type of hormonal birth control before and while I did ask the doc a lot of questions, a lot of things kind of went in one ear and out the other lol. I just got my period today so I got my patch out, followed all instructions and it's securely in place now. My question is, since I just started my period today is it going to continue and finish like normal or will it stop now that I have the patch on?

when i first started on the patch i continued out my period normally, it didn't stop or anything...then after my period i continuted changing my patch on my patch day, then the week i had to take off the patch i started on like tues or wed! i can count on always starting on either of the two days on my patch off week! you shouldn't have any trouble, but everyone's body is different! good luck :)

Ok thanks! My period has gone on as usual, maybe a bit lighter, but other than that it's the same. Just making sure something's not going wrong!

I was sick this morning, just some dry heaves and dizzyness right when I woke up and I feel fine now. I'm guessing that's normal because my body isn't used to all these extra hormones?

yes i would say this is normal. i never really got sick but i did feel a little nauseated at times, but of course, i think its from the extra hormones as well. and i probably did it a couple months then i was fine. my periods are normally a lot lighter everytime since i've been on the patch, so i enjoy that, and you'll find that you'll start and stop about the same time every month, so it's great to know when exactly you're supposed to expect it, especially if you're sexually active! if you have any more questions just hollar! :D
