I don't know what is wrong with me. I am 16 years old and almost every school night find myself staying up later than I do on weekends. It's not the fact that I wake up too late or anything. On Sunday I wake up at 8:30 am for work and dont nap at all. When it comes sleep time I often take nyquil or sleeping pills(my parents) to do it. Does anyone know whats wrong? Thanks

Well, the most obvious is that you need to stop the sleeping pills immediately! They are prescription meds for a reason and you can't just dose yourself. That could be a big part of the problem.

Do you go to bed and get up at the same time everyday? Even if you are not tired, you should go to bed and try to sleep. You could try relaxing before bed - soothing music, a warm bath, etc.

But if this has become so severe that you are using someone else's meds, it is probably time to go to a doc. You need an expert to get this sorted out, and be honest about what you have done up till now.

Good luck.

They are OTC pills and it says for use of for children 12 or older to take one tablet.

Oh, from your first post I just assumed they were prescription. I still don't think it's a good idea though, OTC sleep aids aren't supposed to be used long term. And by using them you aren't really solving the problem, just covering it up. If this has been going on for awhile, I think it is time for a doc.

Good luck.
