I was just wondering if anyone has heard of a person going or starting menapause at 24, why Im asking is that I never get my periods on my own without taking the birth control pill or prgesterone however just recently I started having a period on my own about once every 3 months and I have terrible hot flashes I cant stand heat period and people think Im nuts. Could this be signs of it? I really want to have kids someday Im just not sure if that is possible with my condition any info is appreciated..

Hi there,
Have you been to a GYN to discuss your issues?
I don't think it's impossible to have menopause at your age, but it's certainly not a common thing. I always had irregular periods, 2-3 mos. apart, sometimes more. I was pretty active/athletic when I was younger, and most people thought that was why. But it didn't really change much when I became less active. I didn't have trouble getting pregnant, just had to learn how to tell when it was the right time. But, I never had hot flashes. I did always wondered though, if my hormones were too wacky and if I'd probably go through early menopause.
A good doctor can probably counsel you on the best approach for your goals for 'regulating' and having children in the future.
Best of Luck, and do let us know what you find out!
