Welcome home and ggod luck - Remeber not to do more than you have been told to and listen to your body. Your body has been traumatised and will take some time to recooperate - hence the pain - nerves screaming - Take it from somebody who knows - doing to much will be your undoing.
Hang in there and keep us informed
Isnt it nice to be able to eat what you want and when - thats one of the fist things I really appreciated when I got home

Have you had an MRI? Has spinal stenosis been ruled out?

tracer,
I am glad you have your surgery behind you and I hope you will heal well and be rid of the pain you have been in.
But now I am going to say, what are you doing on the computer the first day of your surgery. Are you using a laptop in bed? Sitting up in a chair right now is probably not the best thing for your back. You just had your back operated on and I know it is tempting to get back on the computer, but give yourself a little time to heal, get some rest, follow your doctors instructions and take care of yourself. You don't want to undo the work your doctor has just done or do anything to prevent a successful recovery.
Get Well Soon,
Casey

congrats on being home! :bouncing:
Please listen to us here...don't push it or you'll be back on the table. I had a laminectomy at L5 S1, didn't listen and pushed it way to much and now I am one week post op from an anterior (through the belly) fusion at the same level. I am doing my darndest NOT to push it, I know it's hard, but you really need to rest. Listen to your Dr, and you body. Follow your post op intructions OK?
Good luck w/your recovery.
