View Full Version : Humira Question

Hi everyone, I just started Humira and got my first box from the pharmacy, and am wondering if anyone else has had any trouble with the temperature of their refrigerator not being warm/cold enough to store the Humira...

I got a thermometer to put in the fridge for the Humira and mine is staying right at 36 F, and that's with turning my refrigerators' internal temp back to make it warmer... I'm just worried about the Humira possibly not being stable/spoiled because of it having to be stored at 36-46 F.
(Especially since they are so specific about the temperature, with stating it on the papers and on the side of the box...)

I don't know if I'm being overly worrisome or what, but since the drug is so expensive and all, I guess I wanted to see what anyone has experienced...

Thanks all,

Laura

I've been using Humira for about 18 months and have never had a problem. I would think that it would discolor if not kept at the right temp. (because they say not to use unless it is clear). That's a question for the "Humira rep." - how do we know if it has not been kept at the right temp? Does it discolor? A helpful hint - before injecting leave it out about 15-20 min. to get to room temp and it goes in much easier. Also, I make out better with my stomach, it hurts using my thigh. Good luck - hope you have success - it's been my "miracle drug" and gave me back a normal life, whatever that is - ha ha.
