I just got a sore throat, it is worse when I wake up in the morning. Spitting up mucous and blowing my nose seem to relieve some of the pain. I am leaving for the caribbean next week and don't want to be sick. Are there any remedies to get rid of this quickly?
Thanks

Lots of fluids. Rest. Hot tea with (with honey, if you like) will help your throat. :)

You get a sore throat from your sinuses draining. So you need something to stop the drip and dry it up....Try Tylonol cold and flu non drowsy. You can help heal your sore throat by gargling with warm salt water. About 2 TBSP of salt per cup of water. It will be VERy salty but salt will heal. It's a virus so there isn't much you can do but let it take it's corse. Drying up your sinuses is about all you can do. Sun helps to dry it up too so the Carribean will do you some good. Good luck. It usually takes a week or two to get over IF you rest and not drink or party.
