I let my pain meds run low and I will be out by tomorrow night! I faxed a request to the drs office and asked them to please refill and call me. No one has called and it is four thirty. I think they close at five. I really don't want to go to Urgent Care, and pay a seventy five dollar co-pay, but I am afraid I won't make it through the weekend. What would you do??????

I can't stay in tomorrow, so I will keep my script meds for going out and then try tylenol and my muscle relaxers for later. Do your muscle relaxers work? Mine don't seem to at all. Maybe i will suprise myself and the tylenol will be great and I can stop the narcs, who knows....

Oh Mel, I am so sorry. I remember doing the same thing. As for the M. relaxers, for me they work to help me sleep. That's better than nothing, I guess. I'd say dont do anything this weekend...other than your walking. Dont make it any worse than it has to be.
Good luck,
lorie

Mel,
Try calling your pharmacist and tell them your situation. Maybe they can give you enough meds to get you through until you get your refill.

I agree with Puddin... call the Pharmacist. The other option is to put an after-hours call into the doctor. I know my doctor would call my pharmacy if I provided the phone number and just call me in a script.

I agree with TX Hunni, call your doc after hours...there is someone on call esp. for a post oper.. :)

And you're considered post-op---I didn't have any co-pay---for 90 days.

I didn't even think of calling the on-call! Good idea! I will see how I do, if it gets bad enough, I will. So far, I am doing okay. If I can wait until Monday, I'll just call my PM doc and have him refill my percs since he wrote the script anyway. My dr has surgeries on Mondays, so I don't even know that I can reach him then. So, we'll see how I do. If nothing else, the pharmacy idea is a good one. Would that really work????

Yes, if they filled the prescription for you, most of the time they can give you a couple pills to hold you over until the doctor calls.

Mel,
My Pharmacist does it all the time, he gives me enough till the doc calls it in, I would call the Doc now and ask him to call the pharmacy, it could take up to 24 hours for him to call something in. He has other patients as well, and most of them ( On Call Doc's) just call everyone in at the same time, so make sure your on the list.
