both my bf and i, DO NOT have STDs. :nono: but i just noticed something weird on my vulva....bumps, (kinda resembles genital warts). is it possible to develop something like this w/o STDs??? he hasnt noticed anything different on him. so, is there a certain infection, that causes bumps? or maybe i scratched myself and just kinda made it inflamed??? kinda lost, dont really know what we're suppose to look like down there.

If you were tested for an STD and were told you were fine, then you can probably look for another cause. How many bumps? Is it just one or more? Can you describe them more?

It could be the sign of an oncoming yeast infection. Every woman reacts differently when they have a yeast infection. Sometimes you get really itchy and have discharge and some other people get bumps that look like an STD. Is it itchy?

no, they dont itch. i believe there are 3 or 4 bumps and they look like hives (or shingles); kinda odd shaped, sticks out a little, and im not sure--if its my skin or if these spots are a little dark. to be honest, my whole vulva looks weird (different from what i thought it looked like). the left side has the spots and the right side looks like it swelled, (extra soft and more skin but not smooth). sorry for the TMI. i hate looking down there, cuz then u find new things and then u start to worry. would there be a reason, why it swelled? can we even swell down there, on one side???

I'm just curious, if you're so absolutely positive that you and your bf DO NOT have STDs, then why did you post your question on the STD board?

If you do an engine serch (searching on the web) you can find pictures of what genital warts look like along with several types of hives, irratations, ect. Could it be clogged hair folicles? If you shave down there or from rubbing maybe or friction during intercourse. I do know you can swell on one side from friction. Good luck.

When did the two of you even get tested? Are you just assuming that both of you are clean?

Have you been with anyone before this? How about him? How about cheating? is that possible? Because I know herpes can lay dormant for years b4 it flares up but you dont have itches or a burning sensation when you urinate <im assuming. >

And as for picking it up in a pubic place that is mostly a myth. You cant really get a disease from sitting on a toilet seat, it needs a "host" so to speak. It cant live for long even if it gets on a toilet seat! if its possilbe it's probably EXTREMELY rare...

And have you seen genital warts before to know it "reminds you" of it?

Im not trying to offend you im just laying out the options. :p

no u didnt offend me, for all i know it could be nothing. probably is--i see something and make it bigger than what it really is. well i was a virgin b4 i had relations with my boyfriend, and hes only had 1 other partner. i know hes clean becuz they were planning on having a child. its a long story, but he wouldnt infect her and his child to be. anyways....i've looked on the net and found pictures of genital warts. the part of my vulva that has this irritation, there are no hair folicles. the mind can play tricks on people, do u think, thats what this is??? maybe im just crazy. :dizzy:

I'd say that instead of driving yourself crazy, go to the doctor. If it's nothing then you'll be relieved and if it is genital warts - well at least you'll know and can start treatments. Good luck.

First and foremost, anyone who's ever had sex with another person COULD have an STD. The vast majority of people who have an STD have no syptoms. I'm not trying to scare you. It's just really insulting when someone claims themselves "clean" and how there's no way that they could be a host for an STD. Please remember that the entire sexually active population is at risk and the vast majority of them -- more than 80 percent -- will contract an STD at some point. With that said, go see your doctor. He/she can look at the bumps and tell you what you're dealing with. With genital warts (HPV 1) there are often no bumps. Or bumps can wait and appear years after the exposure. Or a person could get HPV from someone who doesn't know they have HPV because they've never had any bumps. The possibilities are endless. Please see your doctor who is the only one who can diagnose you. Take care.

I agree! A man can carry HPV and NOT know it. In fact the statistics are 1 out of every four woman have it. Not sure what the male statistics are. You definitly need to get tested and so does he. He can NOT have a wart and YOU get them. Good luck.
