I'm 17 and I have prom in a couple months...i weigh about 160 lbs. and i would like to lose anywhere from 35-40 of it....is there any diet and excercise that anyone has been doing that can make you lose weight faster? or any good diets/ excercise plan?

If you are serious about losing for that prom then listen to me.Your young and the weight will come off fast.I'm 52 and this worked for me.But after you lose what you want then get on a good eating plan.For breakfast drink a LC slim fast,for lunch eat a subway chicken bacon wrap and for dinner another lc slim fast.All through the day drink water at least 6 bottles.The weight will fall off of you and you will be surprised how full you feel after doing this for a couple of days.I lost 5lbs in 5 days on this diet.This isn't something you could do for a long time but it will sure get the weight off quick!

those slim drinks, and subway sandwiches everyday are really expensive and my family doesn't really have that kind of money to spend what do you suggest?

Eat things like turkey and lean meats, chicken. Salads make great snacks as well, and even doing things like cutting out a lot of the fat makes all the difference. (I mean, buy 1% milk as opposed to 2%, or even 1/2%!) Low fat everything helps a lot, as does drinking a lot of water. I don't drink pop anymore, I drink diet if i want it... Healthy cereals like Special K and things like that help a lot too
Right now, I'm obsessed with Campells soup, the classic is only 150 cals a can! It makes a great lunch or dinner
Eat fruits for snacks, like bananas or oranges.
Calories wise, I like to keep it between 1200-1400 cals a day, plus i exercise in Gym class. I love doing Taebo and DDR, DDR i love because it tells you the cals you burn, it adds up really quick, and it's so fun! Some songs you can burn 23 cals, and the songs are only like 1.5 minutes!

Just try to cut back on any excess calories (wether they be foods or liquids). In order to loose weight you must create a calorie deficit. Take a week and write down every single calorie you consume, for each day of the week. By the end of the week you should have a general idea of how many calories you take in daily- or at least a rough estimate. For example, lets say that a week from today you have estimated your daily intake to be around 2,000 calories. Those 2,000 calories per day are more than likely maintaining your weight - simply keeping it where it's at on the scale. Now, subtract 500 calories to create a deficit, in this example would now change your calorie needs to 1500 per day. So now, if you want to loose weight, just make sure you don't eat over 1500 calories per day.
You can loose about 1-2 pounds a week this way, best of all it's safe & effective, and since it's done slowly, you'll more than likley keep the weight off for good, once you are adjusted to your daily intake.
You have a lot going for you since you're young, your metabolism should be pretty high so this should work quite nicely. Try to eat as healthy as possible, that probably won't be a problem though - when most start melting off pounds, unhealthy food seems to get rather unappealing (for some). You may want to increase your activity level a bit, maybe start with brisk walks after dinner, or whatever your favorite activity.

hello...to lose that much weight in that short of a time seems impossible. 2lbs a week seems like not a lot but its what a healthy weightloss would look like...eating healthy and exercising...cut whatever you eat in half and do some sort of physical activity for 30 minutes after school...just a suggestion...
