Hello, I have a fear that I cannot get rid of. Now I have long hair and that does not bother me, but any hair that is loose, like when I comb it and a peice will come out, or a peice on the floor or in the shower that falls out, that really disgusts me. I can't explain it. Its not a normal hair phobia, its just loose peices that gross me out so bad, I'll think of it when I don't even see it. I have OCD so I don't know if it is just an obsession I have or if they're is some actual phobia. Have anyone ever heard of this? I know it's strange. Thanks.

Iam a hairstylist for 15 years and I of course deal with hair daily.. at work hair is hair... its ends up in our shoes in our bra's ... ect its everywhere and I dont have a prob with it at all but ... when I came home and get ready to take a shower I have to use a tissue to remove any hair in the tub.... I know its not the same thing but its very simular to your problem.. good luck meljo

Trichophobia is a fear of hair. There is no phobia for loose hair (I guess if you're scared of hair it shouldn't matter where it is, lol)! Doesn't sound like you have a fear of these hairs though as you only mention being disgusted by them. Disgust is an emotion. If you are just disgusted by the sight of these hairs (we all have our own repulsions -- this happens to be yours) then it's just a strong emotion. If you are thinking about these hairs and imagining them in your head, then it's OCD.
I think it's OCD :bouncing:

Well, first of all, loose hairs can be disgusting, especially when they're in your food....
I think I'm getting queasier as I get older - more and more things disgust me. Is this OCD? Maybe. Probably. So what, I don't care. If it weren't for compulsive people, we wouldn't have any perfectionists in this world (and we need them).
