I have had a very sharp and lasting pain as long as I'm standing since my liver transplant just under my left rib that I thought was from an incisional hernia that not visualy present ( self diagnosed ) anyway I Havent had insurance since my wife left me in jan. and I just saw a doc who tells me the pain is from the pancreas and the very high triglyceride levels my liver doctor seems very concerned and wants a ct scan now. Could this or is this liver related ( there were bowel complication and they had to open me a 2nd time a week later cause kidneys wouldn't function ) or related to the transplant. what should I expect and do I should I ask for something else to help me with the pain so I can get out of bed longer I'm on oxycodone now for nerve damage to my legs but it doesn't help with my pain in abdomen at all. What can I expect to happen from here and does any one have ideas about what caused this. Bye the Way I am a 50 year old male right handed non diebetic caucasian with two left feet.

Thanks
Look forward to help response

Your medical issues are way beyond any advice that anyone could provide you with on this forum. Your triglyceride level is extremely high and indicative of acute pancreatitis which can be a severe, life-threatening illness with many complications.

You need to take your doctors advice and get the CT scan.

esteve, I'm sure people are not just ignoring you. I'm guessing that others, like me, feel that your situation is so far beyond our knowledge that almost anything we might say might not fit because of the complexity of your case.

Did you ask for copies of your previous blood work? It is always a good idea to ask for your own copy, then you can compare results and ask the doctors about changes which might have taken place from one test to the next. If you have copies of the results, then you'd know whether some change has taken place suddenly, or whether it was a gradual change and for some reason, the doctors didn't bring it up.

Yes it's pretty much what Uff-Da! said. I would like to help you but none of us here including me are qualified to really understand all your medical issues.

The doctor's who cared for you and have access to your complete medical history and tests are really the only ones who can answer your questions.

Pancreastitis is a serious ailment. Back in 1996 i suffered with pancreatitis. I had to be rushed to the ER in a different state. It was bcuz i had drank too many wine coolers (3 bottles) and ate fried fish on top of taking my bp meds and insulin. I am usually a non-drinker. My pain was in the pancrease region under the breast. It was so sharp a pain i could not eat or drink water for a week b4 ending up in the er. Also, I had a tumor on my pancrease and it a portion of my pancrease removed. Todate, im a diabetic.

I wish you well but i must agree with the others, your trigs are really high and only your drs can address your unique health issues.

esteve,

Please stay under the close scrutiny of an expert in the liver field. Yes, runaway blood lipids VERY much point to a malfuntioning liver because virtually all fats are made and broken down in the liver.

My heart goes out to you, you've been through the Gates of Hell...take care!

As everyone else has said, any recommendations on how to deal with your problems are inappropriate on an internet forum...the situation is FAR too complex!
