I will start taking Estrostep fe this coming Sunday 16th. I was wondering if anyone has any good or bad things to say about Estrostep fe. I am nervous about the side effects, but I've heard that taking them at night is best to avoid the nausea. Any comments appreciated!

I am taking Estrostep FE and have been taking it for about 2 years. At first I got headaches the week before my period, I did not have any weight gain at all but I do hungry the week before my period and I get some acne on my face. I also get mood swings the week before my period as well. I'm usually really tired the week before as well. The major side effect that I have had is that I have grown some hairs on my face which really sucks so I am planning on changing to Ortro Evra(the patch) sometime this week. I think I have stayed with Estrostep so long because I did not gain any weight but now I'm ready for a change.

I would recommend trying it because everybody responds differently to birth control, If you notice anything different call your doctor and change it. But overall, the side effects will be noticed the week before your period.

Good luck.

I was taking that b4 I switched to my current pill. Seasonale. I really enjoyed Estrostep, my period was always on time and it really reduced my cramps. I do have a lower sex drive. But that just may be me. I didnt have sex b4 I was on the pill so I dont know!

I did gain weight while on it. I believe. But if you stay active then you will probably not have a problem!

So you can see from the last post that birth control in general does different things to different people....I've been getting bad migraines for awhile on Estrostep and they always occur the week before my period so I have to call m doctor to see if I can switch.

Thank you for your input! Do you know if there is a time frame in which the pill can be taken everyday? LIke if I start taking it at 8:00 does it matter if I would take one at 8:15 or 8:30?? I asked my gyno this question and she made it seem as if a half hour was too long of a time frame to wait. In the pamphlet that came with the pill it says to take the pill at about the same time everyday to avoid spotting.

Honestly... I have trouble remembering to take mine at the same time each day..One day I'll take it in the morning or the next day I'll take it at night..I haven't had any trouble with spotting from taking it at different times. I do not think 15-30 mins will hurt you at all. But once again your body may respond differently than my so just be careful
