View Full Version : Worried...

I have a lump beneath my breasts, it's right in the center of my chest, a little more raised on the left side. I didn't worry about it too much because I thought, since I'm a little chunky, that it was just skin being pushed up by my bra, but being that I am a hypochondriac I then began to worry that it might be inflamed tissue or, silly as it sounds, an enlarged heart. Now I'm worried it might be a tumor because it's not going away. I don't really know much about tumors despite being constantly worried I have some ailment or another, but I do know that when I lift my breasts up, the lump becomes more smooth; would this happen with a tumor? Could this just be a fat roll, for lack of a better term, or should I go see a doctor?

Don't have an answer for you. Just thought you might get some better informed answers if you posted on the breast cancer topics board.

Good luck,
Jay

I actually did not get an answer at all when I posted in the breast/ovarian cancer forums.

Yes you should see a doctor. Most likely its nothing but anytime there is concern you should go to the doctor. Do you have insurance? If not most states have clinics or planned parenthood that will do free screening. When my friend had breast cancer she said it was a lump that wouldn't move or roll, it was like a solid rock. Everyone's story is probably different. Just go to the doctor...
