Hi. I am 36 year old female. I have had this lump outside of my anus, left sided for maybe 2 years now, or a little less. It swells when I have a big bm, but it never goes away. Sometimes when I press it , it feels hard. I have put ice there before and it will get smaller but not going away. It itches, burns, etc. and I stay constipated quite a bit. Sometimes I notice a brown streak on the left side of my underwear. Doctors have looked at it and felt it, but none seem to be too worried. My gyno said it was a little hard but didn't comment on if i needed it checked. ER doctor said once it was probably a hemmoroid.

I just need to know what a hemmoriod looks like, and feels like and if it ever goes away, or what. My mother said she had them after having kids, and the doctor told her to stick hers back up in there, but I would be afraid to try this.

Please help. It is very embarressing and I don't even want to have sex with my husband anymore, afraid that he will feel it.

Thanks.

I think you just gave a great description of a hemorrhoid.

You can work to reduce them by keep your stools soft and treating them with a cream. If it gets to bad then they can be removed with surgery.

They are a blood vessel that has become dilated ususally due to straining to have a BM.

So, I always envision them to be blue and long. Not round and skin colored.

I also heard they don't itch, etc.

I am just confused, because I have been having these other problems with left sided pain, and was afraid it was due to this buldge in my bottom.

You would think there is some kind of miracle cure for these things.

I think there is a lot of variation. Mine did itch. It could also be a skin tag, but I would nolt think they would itch.

If your doctors are not concerned they I think you can probably relax.

well, if you knew the type of doctors we have here. I don't know about you, but the doctors where I live aren't concerned about anything. I have a lot of health problems for my age, and they just act like since I don't have good insurance, there is not much they can do. That is what scares me.

That is why I need to know if anyone else thinks it is a hemmoroid. Are hemmoroids hard or soft?

Hemorrhoids are veins that have lost their elasticity -- sorta like various veins and they are usually soft.
