My father has been operated for throat cancer and treated with radiotherapy. Since then he's not able to swallow. Thick saliva is bothering him a lot and it has to be removed by hand woth a tissue. The treatment has been more then a year ago. Is there anyobne with the same or similar experience who maybe has some advice? Thank you.

Suggest you visit ACOR.org [Association of Cancer Online Resources] which is a not-for-profit Internet resource for cancer patients and their families. Great way to exchange information about all aspects of cancer, including how to manage therapy related side-effects.
Good luck,

Hi, my father also has throat cancer and is getting chemotherap. His cancer has spread to his spine now, so the Chemo is really just to ease his suffering in the time he's got left. Like radiotherapy, chemotherapy has some unpleasant side effects too. Vomitting is quite a common one, as is an inability to swallow. I hope your dad isn't suffering too much. Take care of yourself xxx
