The week I started taking Actonel for osteopenia, a small lump appeared on my right upper arm. I didn't think much of it as I assumed it was a calcium deposit, as I upped my calcium supplements same time.
A year and a half later the lump grew very quickly into a larger, warm, painful lump diagnosed as merkel cell carcinoma, a rare, aggressive skin tumor. I had it widely excised and surgeon was able to get negative margins.
I immediately went off Actonel.
Anyone else experience these symptoms?
P.S. - get your lumps and bumps checked out while they are small !
