Could anyone shed any light on this and the possibility of me having sinus.

Probs been going on with my right eye for over 2 years now. At the stage where my eyebrow and eyelid feel swollen - worse on damp days than sunny - my vision in my right eye is dark and blurred and feels as if my eye has shut off. Pupil does not react at all. Also my eye lid is lower than my left, and it has lots of creases in it.

When I wake up in the morning, swelling feeling is bad, also my nose is very dry. When I press on my eyelid and push sometimes I get a cracking noise.

I feel totally full on the right side of my face, 5 years ago I had a bad ear infection same side which left me with tinitus, my ear has a high pitched ring, and always feels full and full of wax, wax does not come out as easy as my left, and sometimes the ear itches right inside the ear canal.

When all this started i got servere headaches as if my brain was touching my skull, I had two bad headaches last weak, also terrible stabbing pains in my eye.

The worst is the lack of vision in that eye - and the tight uncomfy feeling that I have constantly in it, my quality of life has dimished and getting to the stage where I don't think I can carry on much longer. Have seen various eye specalists etc, had a ct scan, sinus x ray, blood tests, vep tests all neg and was told nothing is wrong go away.

I have now been sent an appointment for an MRI scan of my eyes, something that I am very very scared off. Couple of questions, can sinus cause the above problems my Dr's say No and I have read that there is a green/yellow nasal discharge, mine is dirty white like egg white, thats when my nose is moist as most of the time is is dry.

Also would an MRI scan show a problem in that area, and has anybody ever had one done and how long did it take. I am dreading spending a long time in a confined space. I am clautrohpbic and needle phobic too. The prospect of having a dye in my eye is not good for me.

Hi 'jdn5764', since no one has replied yet, I thought I might put in my 2 cents. So what's your main problem with your eyes? Is it your eyes or eyebrows? What kind of specialist have you consulted? An infection in the sinus can be diagnose by a quick CT scan. Mucus discharge from sinus infection are usually dark greenish or yellowish. Dirty egg white colour...??... contaminated cerebral spinal fluid...???...purely guessing..hehez.

The swollen eyelid and eyebrow can be due to allergies or something related. The eye symptoms like 'pupil not reacting', 'blurred', 'dark'...etc, sounds neurological to me.

If you are not comfortable with an MRI, see if a CT is possible. There are other ways to make you comfortable during an MRI, having a sedative before the procedure can calm you down or put you to light sedation(you'll be asleep and not remember much). A more invasive method is GA(general anesthetic) and they do this very often for pediatrics. Good luck!

I Would Have The Mri Done...i Had One Done In July For A Sinus Problem I Had.. It Took Like 5 Minutes And It Was No Big Deal At All. I Thought It Was Going To Be Painful Or Scary..it Was Over So Fast I Felt Silly For Being Nervous..

Have You Gone To An Optometrist Or Opthamologist For Your Eye And Visual Problem? They Can See Things And Direct You To The Proper Specialists Also...

Good Luck!
