I had a terrible weekend. On Friday night, I argued with soulmate and couldn't sleep but a couple of hours. On Saturday I was on the go all day, and at midnight stopped on my way home to pick up my 16-yr-old, who was driving my ex's car and was supposed to be back by then. He is usually responsible, but didn't call until 1:30 a.m.--and I had already been talking to the police. Again I dodn't get to sleep until about 3 a.m. On Sunday soulmate was busy, not home, and we hadn't made up yet--unusual for us.

Usually when I'm exhausted and have argued with a loved one, I will definitely get an ob. But I've finally been taking the Oil of Oregano that I bought several months ago. I've been taking 4 drops under the tongue every morning, letting it sit for a minute or two as I put on my clothes, etc. When on Sunday I started feeling irritated down below--one of my usual signs of an impending ob, I decided to up the dosage to 5 drops twice a day (morning and evening.) Monday morning I still felt a little irritated down there, but it went away by that afternoon, and now I feel great! Still a little tired from the sleepless weekend, but I am catching up slowly. I just wanted you all to know that it seems to be working for me. I guess I was afraid to try, since the Olive Leaf Extract never did a thing for me.

And my soulmate and I made up!

Great to hear backpacker. I have some olive leaf extract tablets, but never realised they could be used to help clear ob's. I supposed anything which ups the immune system is helpful. I have looked for the oil of oregano, but had difficulty finding it, but want to keep some at home "just in case" so will continue searching for it.

I used to take the garlic gel capsules daily and then stopped. Now i've started them up again and the last ob i had cleared up in a week. Not sure if it's due to the garlic capsules or b/c it was my second ob, meaning ob's get easier to handle after the first initial case, which took me nearly a month to feel "normal".

I have genital HSV1 and my initial OB was AWFUL! I had thrush at the same time, and every time I thought it was clearing up, it would return - I guess it could have been a few smaller OBs, one after another, but I would only have one day's respite before it started again, so I am tempted to say it was all one big OB. After a month I felt a lot better and haven't had any problems since, but that first one...... AAARGH!!

WHY, the ob's on your face, have the doctors confirmed exactly which type you have on your face via a swab? If you have only just begun the lysine course, it will take a little to see results. I used to only get the herpes as cold sores on my lip until one year it blew totally out of all proportion due to a number of stressful situations. The results weren't instantanious but i kept taking the lysine for about 3 months daily and when it did become effective, i didn't get another ob for nearly a year and then it was only such a minor one on my bottom lip and nothing to worry over. I take 2 garlic gel capsules daily also and that has benefited me in so many ways, not just with my immune system. I did stop taking them and saw the results, so went back on them.

Backpacker, thanks for the info on where to get the OOO. I had once seen it on a shelf in a pharmaceutical factory outlet, but that was prior to me getting the herpes. I had always wondered what OOO would be useful for. Guess i know now. I'll keep checking their shelf or i'll ask an assitant.

As to the Olive leaf extract. Your post reminded me that i should maybe restart taking it and at least give it a go until i've finished off the bottle. Well now i know for certain that it has caused the off and on again nausea i've been experiencing. I couldn't excactly pin point it, but after restarting it since your post, i'll now happily throw it out.
