I received the Hep B vaccination series back in 1997. I was told then that it would last a lifetime. Now I understand that it may not last more than 5-10 years. If that's the case, do I need a booster or do I need to repeat the three shot series to stay protected?

Talk to your doctor. There are newer vaccines out that are a combination of the A and B vaccines.

I don't know how true this is and hope someone will know - but I got the Hep B series in H.S. because it was required by law to go to public school. Now I have heard that people who got it are actually more likely to develop the disease? That scares me and angers me if it is true. I hope it is a misunderstanding of statistics. Can someone please clear this up?

To Kitten, Hopefully someone will know for certain but I have never heard that from any doctor or nurse. The Hep B vaccine is inactivated so I dont see how the vaccine could cause the disease.
