Hi, every other day I work out (I'm 14). My volleyball team has us do these exercises called clean throughs. Incase you aren't sure what they are they are very much like an upright row but at the top you push your elbows through and under the bar. Anyways, so for the last two weeks my hands have been cramping. After I finish a set of 10 my ring finger and pinkie on my left had are very slow to move even when I'm trying as hard as I can. They also sort of "pop" into place. This happens also on my right hand but only to my pinkie. I have been popping my knuckles since I was younge but have been told I can't cause arthritis. I'm scared and confused so if you could help me that would be great. Thank you

First,, I've known people that have popped their knuckles for years and have no problems with arthritis. That said, have you told your parents how you've been feeling? It is quite possible that what you're feeling is resulting from the exercises or something else that you are doing. While arthritis is a possibility, unless you are having other problems I would consider it a slim one. The best thing you can do is to get your parents to take you to the doctor for a checkup. That way you can be sure and put your mind at rest.
