Hey ladies,
I've been on birth control for 6 years with little problem, but I've never had to do this before. Over my Valentine's Day trip with my boyfriend next month, I will be smack in the middle of my period, according to my pill schedule. I'm super bummed about this. I do NOT want my period then! We have never been able to go away together like this and it's really important to me.
Anyways, I have heard of women messing with their pills in order to delay their period or initiate it early for special occasions (eg. wedding, vacation, etc). I'm just wondering what the most effective/normal way to do this is - should I just start my new pack directly after the 21 days, without leaving the 7 day break? Or should I avoid starting my new pack this Sunday and just wait it out, and start it a week or so later, would that work better?
We use condoms as a backup method of birth control, so I'm not all that concerned with the pill losing some effectiveness, though I'm aware it probably will.
Have any of you done this? What should I do? Please respond!
