My chiropractor suggested that I have my primary care doctor do an arthritis panel on me. Does anyone know what this costs? Also, are they able to diagnosis osteoarthritis from this or just rheumatoid arthritis? I don't see how they could diagnosis osteoarthritis from a blood test, but then there is a lot I don't know. :)

TIA

They can get some information on you by doing the blood panel. They can do the sed rate, crp, RH factor and thats gives them a go as to how much inflamation you have, if you have a positive Rhuematoid factor they will go from there. Osteo can only be detected by the sed rate and xrays and even xrays tell a small part. It can be expensive but it also be helpful.

PS: The test may show nothing at first, I had a RH factor that was negative for a year before it started out to climb so that by the time the test did show it I already have some damage. It is only a helpful tool but not whole picture.
