I am currently taking velivet (cyclessa) & it is a triphasic pill which means each week is a different colored pill with different amounts of hormone. I have had luck previously skipping periods while taking regular pills where all pills are the same dose, but am wondering if it will work the same with a triphasic pill or not? In 2 1/2 months I will be taking a very very special vacation ( a cruise to celebrate our 10 year anniversary) & guess what is due that very week?! Time has never been a friend of mine. I swear, my period has ruined so many special occasions & I DO NOT want it ruining this one!! I would just try it & not worry about the outcome but I have had problems in the past. A few months ago I had to have a d&c & hysteroscopy due to heavy periods. My dr thought there was a polyp but during the surgery, she found nothing wrong & started prescribing me a triphasic pill to try to control the bleeding & so far it has worked but I'm afraid to change things on my own for fear of the heavy bleeding to come back. I guess I shold just call my dr this week see what she has to say.
