View Full Version : Can a Birth Control Pill Cause THIS?

Hi- I was wondering if a switch in bcp can be the culprit behind this. I started breaking out in cystic chin acne about 4 months ago, and this month I am taking Estrostep to help with that. While it seemed to cut down slightly already on the cystic acne, I broke out in small pimples on my lower cheeks, a place where I have never broken out before. I dont know what to do! If this could possibly be attributed to the pill, would it be wise to stop it? Or should I go ahead and keep taking it for the 3-6 months that my Dr said it might take to see full results. Will it continue to break me out on my lower cheeks, or will that stop too? Please help

Breakouts are definitely a side effect of the pill. Depending on which pill I take, I get acne in different areas. One pill gave me shoulder acne which was awful so I stopped using it. Others give me acne on my forehead or chin. I think it'd be wise to use it for atleast 3 months because your body must adjust to the hormones.
