Does anyone have experience with this? My husband's doctor wants to start him on this in place of Enbrel. Hopefully he could also go off methatrexate.
Thanks for any advice.

Your message is quite dated, but thought I'd respond anyway. They will only be able to lower your husband's meth dose. Remicade has been wonderful to me, but you still need to stay on the meth.

I thought I'd answer this too, although by now your husband may already be on Remicade. I've been on it for two years and it's wonderful for me...so great that I have been going to a gym since I started it. I no longer have to lie in bed in pain because my knees are so swollen, etc.

I do take Methotrexate though, along with the Remicade. 7.5 mg/week is the dosage of Metho I'm on.

Thanks for your replies. He will begin the remicade in another month. He currently is on enbrel and methotrexate. He has been approved for a hip replacement but he is trying to hold on until they approve hip re-suracing in the US. I feel so bad for my husband. He cannot do anything he used to to and he gets pretty depressed.

I just started Remicade and could tell a difference after one infusion. I hope it works well for your husband.

Just thought I would let you know that I have been on Remicade for almost two years and I am not taking methotrexate. Most people believe it has to be taken together. I was only on methotrexate for the first few months but could not tolerate it. When I went off of the it I didn't notice any difference. The remicade still helped me just as much as it did before. ;)
