Once again it's a new year and once again I've found more stupid reasons to sabotage any hope of succeeding. Stupid reasons that I won't even go into because they are stupid. But I think it's more about laziness and fear of getting out into the world. Now I'm telling myself to wait until February 1st to start improving my life but I feel like February 1st isn't the right time either so then maybe March 1. By then I will have already wasted 2 months of the new year. I don't want to do that. How do I stop sabotaging myself?

Hmmmm...I can totally relate to your frustration, but don't have any great answers.

Maybe try monitoring (even writing down) your "self talk" about the reasons not to deal with things. Then, one-by-one, confront the reasons and decide which is more important, seeking relief for anxiety or the reason(s) not to do so.

You can also make an appointment to just talk to someone to find out what your options are. This is probably just 'bandaid' thinking, but I sort of play a mind game with myself in which I say I'm only going to take the first step toward doing something, and that's all. Then, after the first step, I might tell myself that I'm just going to take one more step. Or, sometimes, I get on a roll right after the first step. It's sort of like one-day-at-a-time, except I'm not locked into a time frame in my mind.
A first step might be researching your health insurance restrictions.

anxiety sufferers value comfort and dislike being uncomfortable, this applies to me
we have to get out and about to work on overcoming our anxiety and accept the feelings of discomfort this causes, everyone else does, its a normal part of life :nono:
