I have been taking lexapro since may of 2004(8 months) and have gone from 130lbs to 160lbs without changing a thing with my lifestyle. Help! Has anyone else encountered this problem? Has anyone had any luck with losing the weight. I have tried diet and exercise...but give up after about a month because I don't see any results at all! I would be interested in hearing any advice or similar situations. Thanks in advance. :o

HI - I've been on it for about 9 months, and I have gained weight (10 lbs) but it's due to an increased appetite. Is it related to Lex? Don't know, but the improvement in my life with the Lex (5 mg/day) is worth a weight gain. You may just need to change your habits to account for the med. Add 10-15 min extra exercise for what you already do, and drop a couple hundred calories per day. I've begun to combat the appetite issue by allowing one pi out day per week and eating better the rest.
We'll see...
