Actually I just looked at my card to see my eligability date and now I remember, You can apply for SSD when you have been out for 5 months and a doc says you have no chance of returning to work within a year. You can actually apply earlier, but the aplication won't be looked at untill you have been out 5 months, that was the rule in 99.

I became eligable to apply for disability after 5 months of not working with a letter from my doc stating I wouldn't be able to return to work for more than a year, more likely never.

So I became eligable for medicare and got my card 2 years and 5 months after my disability date. I became disabled on 4-1-99 and became eligable to apply for SSD on 9-1-99 , I didn't actually apply until late novemeber.

It was 2 years from the date I was eligable to apply that I recieved medicare.
I just checked my card and I became eligable on 9-1-2001 exactly 2 years and 5 months after being disabled. Sorry about that, you may have another 5 months to go.
Sorry about the confusion, The 100 employee thing is acurate as far as primary and secondary, or was in 99.
Hope your doing better and find a BT med. Meth takes a while to start working and reach peak effect so an extra meth tablet is a poor BT med.
Take care, Dave

Thanks for the info Dave. Actually, I've been taking Methadone for about a year and a half now. Also, I'm not trying to use the Meth for BT, I'm just experimenting with it to see how I can get the best pain control.
