There was once a thread posted on here that discussed the use of camellia oil on the face. Specifically, it dealt with the use of a product named SILKIA. I have recently begun using it. I cover the entire face and front neck. What changes can I expect to see, and how long will that take? Have you experienced results with camellia oil? Are there other cremes that you would recommend over this oil for giving the face a youthful glow and adding firmness to the skin?

The Silkia camellia oil can reduce small fine lines and pitted acne scars, but you have to give it time to work. After using it for 4 months, my moderate frown lines were totally gone. After 12 months, my very deep acne scar indents were almost completely plumped up. I think the immediate changes you can see is it adds a glow to your skin and makes your skin supple. And I found it great for the eye area - keeps small fine lines at bay.

You can try the Oil of Olay Total Effects night firming cream over the camellia oil for firming. This is working out very well for me. If you find the Total Effects not enough, find a cream that contains DMAE which will help a lot.

did the oil cause any kind of break out? Is it a heavy greasy feeling oil, if it is anything like jojoba oil its okay because i use that one right now and love it. I was also wondering if it helps the scars heal or if it just plumps them up temporarily what would happen if you were to miss a couple of days of use?

This Silkia camellia oil is very light, very similar to jojoba oil. I actually found it absorb faster than jojoba oil. I've never had any breakout from it. No, it doesn't just plump up the scars temporarily. The oil acutally regenerates the damaged skin tissues. Sometimes I didn't use it for a week or so because I wanted to try other stuff, and I've never found the scars ever come back.

i am using jojoba oil right now while i'm on accutane, so should the camellia oil be okay do you think, i think so if it is similar. I was also wondering if you could tell me where you get it from and how much it is?

THanks!!!

I think you should be fine with camellia oil. I got it from Goldportbeauty and it's $15 for 2oz. It'll last 3-4 months.

how many times a day do you apply the oil and what skin type do you have?, do you think it would be okay if I applied it at night as I use a moisturizer with spf during the day

I have normal skin and use it twice a day, morning and night. In the morning I put sunscreen over it and at night I put a cream over it (I really like this as it makes my skin super smooth). You can use it at night only.
