Are there any supplements or cremes or oils that would slow the effects of the skin losing its elasticity on the face? That is, is there anything that can slow the effects of gravity on the skin of the face? Are there certain vitamins and minerals that, if ingested orally, could improve skin tone and firmness?

I am on a similar mission. I went looking around and Nivea has a good firming lotion (for at night) and I was told a lot of people like L'Oreal's skin line, and they have one too. I bought a microdermabrasion kit from the brand SPA from Ulta today, that is supposed to help too. I will let you know if it works, and hopefully you'll get some great ideas here too!

Hi Apple,
If you go to the Skin Biology site they have products there for this type of problem. I have read great reviews on a few boards including this one about their copper peptide products. I haven't used this stuff yet myself as I've just ordered a couple things from there last night and I'm eagerly waiting. Check it out.

Find a product containing DMAE, collagen and elastin. I'm interested in the copper peptide products too. Please post results if you try them.

I've been using Skin Biology Copper Peptides for a year and THEY WORK. I will never use anything else. They work slow though. It is skin remodeling so you have to be patient. Also you willl go through an "ugly" stage as old, damaged cells come to the surface and slough off, but once you get through this stage beautiful skin emerges. It is important to use an exfoliating product and a biological oil with CP's as well. The exfol helps slough off the old cells and the biological oil "pushes" the CP's into the skin. It is very important to start with the mildest form of CP's and slowly work your way up. If you start too fast or with too strong a product you WILL experience irritation. These are very strong products.
Skin Bio can answer any questions as can a woman named Diana Yvonne who can give you excellent advice on starting a CP regimine for your skin type. You can do a search for both of these to get additional information.
These products have evened my skin tone, I have a healthy glow, and it HAS FIRMED my skin NOTICEABLY. I'll be 41 next month. If you want something that REALLY works, not just camoflauge or temporary tightening, this is it. CP's actually remodel your skin.
I could go on and on about Skin Bio's Copper Peptide products. I've tried everything you can imagine and this is the real deal.
Good Luck! :)

You guys may also want to look into AlphaDerma CE and Hexapeptide Skin Prep by Janson Beckett. They're the best anti-aging products I've used so far. Both have DMAE to firm the skin. I've been using them for 5 months and my skin has toned and firmed up considerably. I can say they've lifted a couple of years off my face.

Hi andrepp
I checked out the products you mentioned. They are outrageously expensive!
The active ingredients are Argireline (acetyl/hexapeptide-3) or Argireline and
Hyaluronic Acid.
Argireline should only be used to spot treat areas...not on the entire face as it only treats wrinkles formed by expression. Any other improvement in areas other than expression lines is probably from the lactic acid added. But you could use a pure 10% lactic acid daily or do a 40% lactic acid peel once a week for a lot less money and probably even better results as it would be pure lactic acid as opposed to a small concentration used as an additive.
I buy a 10% argireline with hyaluronic acid product by Professional Solutions to spot treat the frown line between my eyebrows. I only pay $38.00 for an ounce and it lasts months.
Copper Peptides actually remodel the skin in part by increasing the density of collagen and elastin. There are many, many other benefis by remodeling the skin too much info for me to type. Skin Bio's website has detailed info.
There are more published studies on the benefits of Copper Peptides than any other non-drug skin care product. Studies at over 40 leading Universities and Medical Research Institutes by leading dermatologists and scientists have established the effectiveness of the Copper Peptide tissue regeneration methods invented by Dr. Pickart.
These are products that do more than cover up a problem and they don't cost an arm and a leg.
Hyaluronic acid should not be used daily either. Pure hyaluronic acid is good for wounds and is good to use after a lactic acid peel. Regular use of HA will break down the skin barrier over time, it just plumps up the skin as a temporary fix. CP's will continue to promote healthy skin.
I don't want to minimize the results you've seen with the products you use but you may find long term use to be more damaging. I just think you could get better results for a lot less money. :)

Hi Tigress,
I've been pouring over the Skin Biology site for many weeks now. I'm getting ready to place my first order but I'm debating whether to purchase the CP Night Eyes in addition to the CP Serum. Did you start out with the CP Night Eyes? Are you still using that or have you moved up to the stronger CP Serum? I was considering diluting the CP Serum to begin with and not purchasing the CP Night Eyes but I want to progress slowly to avoid any irritation. I plan on purchasing the CP Serum, Exfol. Serum, Emu Oil, CP Night Eyes (maybe) and the 10% and 40% Lactic Acids from Diana Yvonne. What did you use to start? Any beginner info/experience you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Cristine,
I have acne prone skin. (Serums are better for the acne prone, drier skin types can use the creams) This is how I started.
CP Serum
Exfol Serum
CP Night Eyes Premier
Emu Oil
Rose Hip Seed Oil or Pearlescent Cleanser
It is important to keep the ph levels of the skin balanced for the exfol to be effective. A gentle, low ph cleanser is essential.
AM:
Cleanse with Rose Hip Seed Oil cleanser
Apply Exfol serum - wait 30 minutes
Apply Emu Oil (just pat a little over face and neck)
Apply sunscreen and makeup (do not use sunscreens with micronized zinc oxide as it competes with the CP's. Professional Solutions sells a pure titanium dioxide which can be purchased through Diana Yvonne)
PM:
Cleanse with Pearlescent Cleanser (it's a little better at removing makeup)
Appy 2-3 drops CP serum diluted with about 5-6 drops water to face and neck
Apply CP Night Eyes Permier
Apply Emu Oil
After about 2 weeks I followed the same routine except began applying Exfol Serum in the AM and PM before the CP Serum. Let the exfol rest 30 minutes before applying CP's.
I slowly began using more CP Serum and less water until I was up to about a nickel size of pure CP Serum on my face and neck. Once I could tolerate that I moved from exfol first to CP first, then exfol. It makes the CP's stronger that way. It was at that point I added a 40% lactic acid peel once a week.
Now I use exfol serum, followed by pure Super CP Serum every AM and PM and a lactic acid peel weekly. I apply Emu Oil 30 minutes after the exfol and CP's. If I don't have time to wait 30 minutes I skip the exfol for that time and just use the CP's. I wear a non-chemical sunblock daily. It has been one year for me this month and I have had wonderful results. It is definitely a slow program. You really have to be patient and not give up when the uglies start showing up. You may look worse before you look better. It is part of the remodeling process. You can lessen the uglies by proceeding very, very, slowly. I went a little quicker since I wasn't experienceing any irritation. I suffered the uglies for about 2 horrid months and then voila! Beautiful, firm, glowing, youthful looking skin began to emerge.
Diana Yvonne is a fountain of information and happy to help you discover what products and routine fit your skin care needs. Good Luck! :)

Thank you so much Tigress. I was going to start a little more aggressively (applying the CP before the exfol serum) but I'll start out slowly by using the exfol. serum first in hopes of getting less irritation and the dreaded "uglies"! Sounds like we have very similar skin types. I was going to purchase the cleanser sample package from Diana Yvonne. I was leaning towards to Alpha Beta to reduce the oiliness of my skin but am concerned it may be too harsh. I currently use a cleanser from Aromaleigh but have no idea what the PH is. I love this cleanser, but they are no longer producing their skin care line.
Thanks again for all the great advice. I'll start slowly and work my way up to the stronger products.

Tigress,
When you went through the "ugly stage", did you get acne? I'm going to be 37 (ugh!) in a few weeks, and I'm so SICK of acne. My skin is clear right now, and I really don't want it to break out again. And I always get cystic acne - right on my chin. I hate that soooo much! But I've got bad, deep frown lines around my mouth that I'd like to get rid of. Also, I've got old red spots (acne marks) and white spots (loss of pigment caused by acne scarring - at least, that's what the doctors all say) and I'm wondering if the Skin Biology stuff will help. Thanks for any info! :)

Hi Beth Ann,
If you use the serums with Emu Oil it shouldn't cause acne. I have very acne prone skin and constantly fight blemishes. I still get blemishes. CP's are an anti-aging product. You can use the Exfol Serum which is 2% salicylic acid for pimples and for exfoliation. If you're having a bad breakout increase exfol use until it clears up. The Emu Oil DOES NOT cause breakouts. I was a little scared to try it at first because I'm sooooo sensitive and break out at the drop of a hat with the wrong product. But I haven't had ANY problems with skin bio's products. Just be sure to stick with the serums not the creams and many acne prone people have found the P&R Day Cover will make them break out.
The ugly stage is when all the old damaged cells start surfacing. I looked old! My skin was saggy, dull, crepey, leathery looking yuck! It was all the sun damage I had surfacing. You'll also see sun spots rise to the surface and fade. The skin is constantly remodeling with the CP's. So even though I've gone through the ugly stage a long time ago and my skin looks really great, I recently had a small sun spot surface on my face near my ear a few weeks ago that is now fading. This is from damage done years ago and was deep and it took this time to finally surface an fade. Lactic acid peels help with too. Using exfol serum more often during the ugly stage can help slough off the damaged cells quicker. Everyone is different. It depends on how much damage you have. Some people experience little to none, some like me, go through months of it. But the end result is always nice healthy skin if you stick it out.
Many people confuse irritation from going too fast or starting too strong as breakouts but it's not. Irritation looks like little red mosquito bite-like welts. If you take it slow you won't get them. If you find you get them just take a break until they clear up and then start again more slowly.
Hope the helps
