Has anyone had any sexual side effects from lexpro or any other gad med? I have a hard time getting "in the mood" so to say. I love my fiance` but I am finding myself giving excuse after excuse when he tries to kiss me. I don't understand it..before taking lexapro this didn't happen...he thinks i don't want to make love to him...and that's not the case...he tries to be understanding...but...it bothers us both...any advice??

I had major problems with ZOLOFT that was the reason I went off of it..I couldn't handle it..I had no drive for it at all and that in it's self made me depressed. I am on Paxil Cr now and so far so good. maybe try to switch to something else. Each one is different ..Good luck..:)

it seems that all modern antidepressants alter the sex drive for both men and women, the older tricyclic antidepressants didnt seem to nearly as much, they are still available and often cheaper, but in theory they arent as good.

the sex drive is usually reduced, which can actually be a benefit, but occasionally increased, try to adjust to the change and be patient

from time to time, various meds are promoted as add ons to deal with this sex drive problem but they dont seem to offer any better than placebo effect

some stop the antidepressant for a few days and can then enjoy a romantic interlude......
