Recently my ex-high school friend was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Brain Tumour called "Posterior Fossa". She has undergone surgery but only fragments were removed. Doctors noted that her life term could be short.

Please Help how I can make her days more comfortable. Any support or encouragement really welcome.

hi zarenya,
i am so sorry to hear about your friend,9 years ago when my son was 10 he had the same tumor, posterior fossa meddulloblastoma,he had surgery they were able to remove some of it, then he had chemotherapy that help to shrink what was left in his brain then he under went 6 weeks of craniospinal irradiation, that was the thing that killed it,is your friend not having any other treatment like my son? im so sorry to say but it is a very bad tumor and not a lot of people get through it if my son had not had radiation he would not be here today,it has left him with other problems and just the other month when we went for his 6 month check up ( which we thought was going to be the last) we were told that they now know that the radiation has caused more problems then they thought it would have, and that there is a chance of it returning my son is going into hospital next month for all sorts of test including a MRI brain scan,i do not regret him haveing radiation if he had not i would not of had the last 9 years with him,and i just pray i have a lot more years with him,do ask your friend if she is having other treatment for this cancer i hope she is able to if not all you can do is be there for her because i am sorry to say it does not look good,i know i am so lucky to have my son still,my thoughts are with you, your friend and all her family at this very sad time, please keep intouch and let us know how things are going
