Does anyone else suffer from irritability from their gad/panic? I am thinking about stopping lexapro, as it is now doing much now for my anxiety, and just taking the xanax when needed and exercising on a regular basis. What does everyone think? Will just xanax help the irritability?

Hi tyna,
I have been on 10mg lexapro for about 3 - 4 weeks straight now. My prescription is for 20mg, but I was going to try to make it on the 10mg. It worked great in the beginning, but seems to not be doing much now. I strongly believe I suffer from pmdd, as my temper flare-ups are so much worse 10-14 days before my period. I just haven't discussed this with the doctor yet. Thanks for your response.

I think your body has gotten acustomed to your dose I would raise the dose slowly and see if you get some relief maybe take your 10+ a quarter of 10 for a week and see how you do sometimes you just need a little more.In my case when i wasn't completely stoned and zombie like i was very snappy and irritable this has stopped as i have started to wean off the meds the med was making me either stupid or not very pleasant to live with because i felt so bad

yes some do get irritable and angry
I would stay on the lexapro another 4 weeks to give it a good trial, it can take longer to work properly

if you decide to stop I doubt there will be any problems. there can be strange and vivid dreams when stopping these meds
