I went to the doctor the other day and she said that my big toe pain was caused by the tendon being pulled (the one that runs on top of the big toe). She said it was most likely caused from wearing shoes that are too tight in the toe box. I figured it might have been my heels (1 inch tall heels).
I stopped wearing those heeled shoes after the pain first began (around day 3 of the pain). I've been wearing flat hushpuppy and naturalizer shoes for almost two weeks. Both big toes were hurting to begin with, now it's just my left big toe.
Should I get it X-rayed or something? Nothing seems to make the pain stop.
Also, I noticed if I get stressed out or upset about something, the pain is worse! Can toe pain be aggravated by emotional stress?? Perhaps I'm imagining that?
Anyone else had this problem? How do you treat toe pain from a tendon being pulled?

Hi,
Just my opinion ,if it doesn't get any better I would deffinetely get an Xray or MRI. Possibly get a referal for a podiatrist. I don't know how a Dr could actually diagnose you without either of those.
Hope you feel better :)
