Hi,

I still have been able to find very little info. on rebound pain and more specifically how to tell whether it's a problem and how long it takes to recover from it.

After coming off the duragesic patch (100 mg.), which I had tried for about a month, back in June, I've been taking 3 or 4 percocet a day just to get a bit of a break from my constant nerve pain. Concerned that perhaps I was experiencing rebound pain (just because I've read that it can happen), I decreased that to 2 a day for about a month and then last week just quit. I had a couple of uncomfortable days withdrawal wise, although nothing compared to coming off the patch. The pain didn't increase (or decrease). It's still the same except now I don't even get a little relief, and I'm going out of my mind.

What I'd really like to know is how long does it take to discern whether this is rebound pain. Am I wasting my time and suffering for nothing? Does it even happen with just two percocet/day?

Any advice would be so much appreciated!

Linda
