for those of you that are on medication and have seen doctors has your lives returned to normal? i have been like this for a while and i just set up an appt. with a therapist and i am skeptical of whether this will work or not.
HI ,
Some people battle with anxiety all their lives and others learn how to cope, and some go back to good old "healthy days," so its really an individual thing.best thing to do is to find out what works for you, therapy, medication, Books, tapes, all help.
keep positive

meds do help, valium type meds taken as needed are very helpful, allowing you to do difficult things with no fears
some therapists help, some dont, it depends on their approach,IMO a therapist who gives advice generally helps, one who just sits there and listens doesnt help much

Hello Spitfire!! :)
With therapy, medicine, prayer, and a positive attitude, it sure will!! My life is just as "normal" as it was 15 years ago, before I was suffering at my WORST!! I "NEVER" would have thought one day I would be married and have children when I couldn't even DRIVE DOWN THE STREET!! So hang in there, life does go back to normal!!

Hi! First of all... you ARE normal! =) Just because we suffer from anxiety/depression doesn't mean we aren't normal, just different! =)
I have thought I was dying from things for ages now. In reality, I am fairly healthy. I have some muscle pain and burning from being so tense all the time, but I am starting to take control over my panic.
Don't let anyone tell you you aren't normal... with the help of a therapist and medication (or not if not needed) you will return to a more comfortable state of mind.
I assure you... I am very "normal". =)
