Ok, I am aware of the managed addiction (sort of), I think that would be myself. I worry about long term usage, but am going through a lawsuit... yea, private insurance ordeal, and they think you are cured from the pain if you quit your meds. Been there once, it's goofy. Something more of a concern to me than myself, is my best friend drinking with these vicodin. I won't mix the two, but I worry what it's doing to his health. Appearance wise, it looks like it took a real toll. Weight gain in the face, and early aging signs. Please help.. can anyone relate. It's a denial thing too, so I can't get through when I try to break the ice to him with my own problems on the drug. I have looked for the na groups in my area, are they helpful? Do they charge? This all sucks so bad, uggh :o

early --You need to tell your frined that if he doesnt stop mixing then he will DIE. Its simple anatomy. The Liver does not like the two mixed. Its not the Vicoden, its the Tylenol (acetometaphen). That in combination with the drinking destroys the liver. I used only 40mg/1300ish apap aday and had a few drinks at night -(one or 2 cocktails only) and I saw an elevation in my liver enzymes after only 1 month! It can creep up you fast --so help him quick --

NA is totally free. They pass around a basket at the mettings but it's totally no pressure optional. I usually give a buck though. And you can't overdose by going to too many meetings :D

Definitely seek them out. In fact I'm looking through my book for a meeting right now.

Mike

I ant to add that NA is strictly for the user not fo the friend or family of an abuser. I think Nar-Anon addresses that issue. Your friend needs to deal with this fast. I was drinking beer with my hydro use too.
