I began taking prescribed Xanax about 10 days ago for extreme anxiety over a health problem...waiting for test results. I got very good results on my scans and thought I'd just take the pills through the weekend then stop. I forgot to take my 3rd pill Saturday night (.25 mg) and woke up the next morning with a horrible headache; nausea and vomiting going on for about 12 hours.
Could this have happened because I forgot the one pill or is it more likely just a stomach virus I had? I've not started the Xanax again and am feeling fine and back to my usual self.
Any insight is appreciated. :)

It sounds to me like you had the flu...if you were having withdrawals from xanax they would have lasted longer than 12 hours and it doesn't seem like you were taking the xanax for that long to have withdrawals from them. everyone that has gotten the flu so far this year have complained of the symptoms you've complained of so I bet thats what you had.

^exactly what i was going to say...
doesnt sound like you've been on the xanax long enough to suffer from any kind of symptoms. if you just got prescribed on it and have been taking the daily dosage you're suppost to...you'd not have a prob.
i guess you can get back on it, or stay off if you feel really good like your normal self...peace

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yea, I kind of figured it must have been a stomach bug, but ya never know with me. Doesn't take much for me to have an upset stomach. Looking back, I only took the pills for about 8 days altogether. From what I've read about this drug on the boards here, it looks like I'm better off without it anyway.

Hi thanks for posting.
I'd agree with the others that it weasn't withdrawal.
If you'd like to read a fascinating piece on xanax and the family of drug it belongs to I strongly recommend The Ashton Manual. Just do a google with Ashton Manual+benzo. You'll be scared staight into not abusing it or using it for longer than necessary.
All the best.
