Is there a tried and true method of diagnosing arthritis? I am 27 and I think I have it in all my major joints. For example: when I sit and pull my knees to my chest, it is very painful for me to relax to a reg. seated position. It takes a while, it hurts and my hips and knees are so very stiff. I already know I have it in my neck and low back. I think I have it in my hips, ankles, wrists, elbows, knees and of course back and neck. BUT, for the other spots, I don't want to speculate anymore and need to know for sure. Any thoughts?

I was diagnosed with an xray. Go to a doctor who specialized in arthritis, a Rheumatologist.

There are many ways they can diagnose arthritis, depending on the type. A rheumatologist would be your best bet. They will probably give you an exam as well as bloodwork and possibly x-rays.

wow, thank you all so much! That will be my next stop! I have arthritis in my neck too, and he/she might be able to help me more than my Neurosurgeon or PM doc. I appreciate the feedback very much!
