I am 29 and was diagnosed with FM last year. I find it very hard to know what is normal and what is not. I have really bad headaches a lot of the time, stiffness all over, dizzy spells, heart flutters, burning sensations all over, sharp pains in my big toes, hands and feet swell up (or at least they feel like it is swollen) as well I have a lot of pins and needles on my hands arms, face, feet. I have days where I am very sad and other days where I am fine, Sometimes I get pain in my eyes mostly my left, as well I get this pain on the top of my head that feels as if someone has hit me with a baseball bat, then there is the forgetting things a lot. I really feel as if I am going crazy. Is there any one else who has a lot of these symptoms.

WOW, what a mess you are! Sorry, but felt compelled to say that. I too have some of the same symptoms. I have the stiffness, dizzy spells, burning sensations, swollen legs and feet, sharp pains in my legs, and some you don't have. I feel as though some of your other things going on should be check and check quick by a Doctor. The baseball bat to the head is serious stuff. I hope you take time to do this and get better.

Hello , I was also dx'd last year and have all the same sx's as you and more. The baseball bat feeling i had was in the back of my head. it woke me up in the night and then i had vertigo when i got out of bed. everything was dark and spinning. My doctor did a mri and found 1 lession (demilying -misspelled-lesion) this has been since jan. of last year.
I also had severe pain behind my right eye. took predisone for it, but the pain and pulling presure has never left. I saw a Rhuemy and i had 14 out 18 tender points. sometimes my toes feel as if i have bee's stinging them and i have had them (toe's) go numb completly for two days. i get alot of pins and needles sensations and migraine headaches and tension ones daily. I have freezing burning pain in my leggs and feet. I just started taking neuroton for that and it helps.
Feels like i get a cold or flu once a month and it lasts all month. I didn't start out with all these sx's, but new ones seem to pop up. I love the days i'm feeling good and not having bad fatigue. I use to have alot of energy. Also i'am new this board. I have been reading it for awhile, but saw your post and i could relate to your sx's. There is hope. brangram

Thank you all for replying. It was a Rheumatoid doctor who made the call that it was fibro. When I talk to the doctor he doesn't really say a lot just takes notes and ups my medication (Amitriptyline and celebrex) I wrote to see if anyone else suffers from the same thing...since I really don't know what is normal and what is not. I had a ct scan done a few years ago and it was fine...also every blood test out there was performed but all were neg. Which is good! Thank you again for replying and letting me know I am not alone.

go thru the old threads. look for one called the list. the origional was posted by copper. print a copy of the list, snuggle up in bed with a pencil and see how many symptoms you have. knowing takes some of the fear away.
i see a shrink. i was not crazy. i was afraid of going crazy. this disorder has all the ingredients for insanity. after 10 years of this i am pleased to say i am moderatly sane. i still have fms, however i am not afraid anymore.
peace,

Thank you for the advice on printing off a copy of coppers list. WOW there sure are a lot of things on that list, as well there are a lot of people who suffer from this. It is hard to believe that there are still doctors who don't want to accept this.

there will always be small minds. glad you found it. do not let the list get you down. the purpose of it is to give you peace of mind. now you will know why all that weird stuff happens.

 Hi I'm new to these boards, also, and the symtoms you described sound just like what I am going thru so don't feel all alone. Sometimes I really get depresed about the cronic pain and fatigue. I'm used to being able to do anything I wanted to. Now I'm limited and it gets real frustrating.
