Hi all and my apologies for this long post.

I really dont know where and how to start this post but I will do my best to describe my problems clearly as I really dont know who else to turn to.

I have not been diagnosed as having Fibromyalgia but have been doing a lot research into my own sympoms to try and find answers that im not getting from the doctors and I do have many symptoms throughout my whole body.

It all started about 5 years ago when I was getting a nagging/dull pain in my left knee. Also regualrly have numbness shooting pains down the shin to my toes. I basically ignored this for a few years but eventually thought I would go and see the doctor about it. As usual that was pretty much a waste of time. Told to do a bit of excercise etc. Then about 2 years ago out of the blue whilst doing something in the kitchen I felt a sharp pain in my lower back so again I saw the doctor who said it was something to do with my posture so he again told me to be aware of it and sit straight etc. Eventually as the pain never decreased I went back and finally got to see the physio and she thought that it was something to do with my left leg not having as much movement in it as the right one. Well, it didnt improve things at all. Decided I would have to live with it as nothing would get done.

Well, still suffering I started to get abdominal pains and the occasional but nasty visit to the toilet. This was also very very painful. Eventually after many visits to the doctors I was diagnosed with IBS. Only thing that I havent had is a colonoscopy but I did have an ultrasound scan and that was ok. However I suffer every single day with abdominal pains all day but very rarely get diarrhea but when I do...all hell breaks loose for me! Fortunately there is no blood or anything like that. I get more constipation really.

Now, about 1-2 years ago I also started to get a pain in the neck and shoulders with some tingling and numbness in my feet and hands and would also radiate into the head on occasion. Saw my doc and she said it was very possibly related to a spinal problem and has ordered an appointment with the physio therapist. However, ever since I was a child I have been a bad grinder of my teeth when sleeping. Im also getting facial/scalp pain, facial pressure, ringing/drumming in the ears, earache, jaw ache etc so after some research I though it was more or likely TMJ. My doctor agreed and so has my dentist who is now making me a splint.

To top it off both my legs really ache most of the time and I also get pains in my wrist and arms. The pain seems to radiate from the hip/pelvice area. So pretty much my whole body hurts and its really getting me down. I cant go back to the doctor as I will just be told something stupid and I just have so many symptoms to talk to her about. I have had growing pains in both arms and legs ever since I can remember.

Some other symptoms I have are tiredness, really stiff in the morning, wake up more often at night, anxiety, light headidness, cold like symptoms, chest pains, blister type things on my left foot.

Well thats my story as I am able to remember/tell it so im wondering what you all think. Are these symptoms similar to what you all go through?

Yep! You should request to be seen by a rheumatologist.

Hi mcruk,

you sound exacly like myself to a tee, i even started the same as you in the knee more of a sickly feeling but you cant touch anywere and say to the doc ohhh it hurts here, all you can say that its in this area. I can tell you i have had so much muscular pain ive felt like puting a gun to my head, if i lift somthing only moderatly heavy, within 1-2 days im in so much pain i have about 3 baths within 2 hrs to ease the pain. i have been to se my doc and he said i have arthritis rheumatoid type and i have it in the muscles and not in the joints because i have no stiffness. my only problem i suffer with severe needle phobia and wont submit to a bl;ood test i also have agraphobia/panic disorder and stress so just like you i have a list of ailments like a phone book.
Try not to get to stressed over it i know how you feel just chill and keep us posted on here ... there are people who care

Thanks for the replies.

To see a rheumatologist do I just ask my GP or am I supposed to organise this myself somehow? (im from the UK)

I too am scared silly over needles Barrie but I did have one about 5 months ago but that came back ok. Im thinking that I might change doctors and see how a fresh start could help me out and this time be a bit more forecful with them. I certainly wont be taking any more crappy suggestions from them this time as its all driving me insane. Im only 32 and I shouldnt be feeling this way. I have 2 very young children and another on the way and also a full time job and its all getting rather difficult to cope.

The only thing that gives me any pain relief is a hot Radox bath. Had one last night when I got home and it was great. As soon as i was dried and dressed it all came back :-(
