Just wondering if treatment with Zinc is effective. I saw this article and it seems to make sense. I would like to hear of any experience with this treatment that you may have or your opinions. I’ve had H for so long now (20 years) it really is not a problem anymore, I stay in great shape and maybe have one outbreak a year, and it’s usually a small one. Sometimes even going 2 years when I’m doing real good. But I like to fight and kill these devils whenever I can, so that’s why this treatment interested me.

been doing it for about a week now...so its hard to tell yet. Just dissolved zinc tabs in water, rub it into the skin and leave it on for about 20 minutes.

Zinc didn't help me,
save your money for Valtrex or other anti-viral

Now about the responses, thank you! It might be that people are missing something with this or doing it wrong, that may cause it to not work. Internet! I don't think that the tablets are going to work, you need to read the article a little more. Zinc tablets may be to high of a concentration of Zinc, and not being in a powder form I don't think it's ionized enough for good penetration into the tissue. I think killing the virus every time it comes to the surface or is in a shedding state is the key:

"The secret to keeping these viruses from reinfecting is maintaining zinc ions on the tissue surface to insure that all herpes simplex viruses are destroyed as they surface from the nerve ganglia."

I'll do my own experiments with this and post my findings here, I would like others with more severe Herpes to try it though, mine is not that bad and I have to wait a long time to test an outbreak, but I'll start the application of Zinc anyway.

You need USP food grade zinc gluconate powder, apply the dry powder topically to wetted skin, which forms a white paste that sticks firmly.

I don't like taking drugs, so I will be saving money! Zinc is cheap, so no harm done in trying.
