Is this a good plan for someone who is working out 6 days a week and is training every muscle twice a week? When I wake up I have 4 egg white that are hard boiled a glass of milk and a piece of toast. About 3 hours later I have a heavyweight 900 weight gain shake then workout 45 min later. Right after I work ot I have a MET-RX shake. 3 hours later I have a can of tuna, orange juice, some cheese, an apple, and sometimes a yogurt. Then for my final meal I have chicken breast with some milk and white rice. Is this good and should I have something else right before I go to sleep? Thanks

Bozo -
lets get some stats and goals on you (age, weight body fat etc) - 6 days a week is Extremely heavy, I dont use that much training for my national level bodybuilder clients. You have the basics pretty well on I will suggest some "tweaks" after I see your stats - and yes I always ad a protein meal prior to bed (slow digesting and works well with the chemical interactions that heppen during sleep)

Another word of caution watch the tuna everyday - its a great source of protein and very convenient but unfortunately we have polluted our waterways and tuna carries quite a bit of mercury. I would limit to two cans a week.

Bozo, sound like your "diet" is boring!!!!! sorry, but if i had egg whites everyday i'd go nuts. try to shake things up a bit. sounds like you have no veggies in your diet!!!! there are so many great ones they are low on the glycemic scale. also, switch your white rice for brown, or even try bulger or taboulie (? on sp) you can do so much with them, and get your good for you carbs. fiber aids in digestion, and helps rid our bodies of all the unwanted "junk" food. rev it up a bit!!!! you'll stick with it I promise!!!!! "dieting" doesn't have to be boring!!!!!!

I'm 19 weigh about 156lbs, I dont know how to measure body fat but I am not fat at all. I want to put on some weight to get bigger. What is mercury exactly and what does it do to your body?

I believe it is toxic to the nervous system, as well as female fetus and whatnot.

Here is a sample diet:
meal one
6 egg whites
2 yolks
1 cup oatmeal
box of raisins

meal 2
Meal replacement shake

Meal 3
6-8 ounce chicken - or can of tuna twice a week
1 -1.5 cup brown rice
salad with 1TBS low fat dressing
1 TBS flax oil
apple

Meal 4
Meal replacement shake

Meal 5
6- 8 ounce chicken - twice a week use steak
medium baked potato
1.5 cups steamed broccoli
1 TBS Flax

Meal 6
6 egg whites

This is a sample and the calories may need to be adjusted but, you should get the basic idea.

Mercury is a heavy metal that accumulates in the body. It is quite toxic and not fun if you get sick from it.

Before the digtial age took over, if you remember the small skinny temperature thermometers you stick in your mouth, well the "silvery" stuff iinside the thermometer is Mercury.

If you're only 19, you missed the good old days when we used to play with Mercury in junior and high school science class every year.. We would play with it in our hands and of course a lot of it ended up spilled on the lab tables and floors contaminating everything.
Shoot, I also remember a job back then where we were tearing down asbestos with only a paper respirator for protection, the years prior to the goverment cracking down on that.

They are both bad stuff you definitely want to avoid.
