Can anyone enlighten me on this? My neuro seems to think its probably nothing though they do have me going for a follow-up MRI in 3 months.
MRI reads: MArginal Chiari I malformation with the cerebeller tonsils located approx 8 mm below the level of the foramen magnus.
Nonspecific T2 hyperintense and contrast enhancing 8 mm lesion within the left aspect of the clivus.
I originally was being seen for headaches and chronic back pain and this was found.
Anyone??

Do you know how many mm's your cerebeller tonsils were extending into the spinal opening? MIne is 8mm. Also, did you have syrinqs?

I'm not sure, they never did tell me, the only thing I was told was I had arnold chiari's type I malformation and that it was probably the cause of my symptoms, I had started having periods where I thought I was having a stroke
i'd become weak and my speak would slur or get really slow, i'd be disoreinted and very weak, my legs would get like lead and my arms would get right heavy, I'd feel really weird, my pulse would become irregular and my blood pressure would drop, these episodes were getting worse and more frequent just prior to the time they diagnosed it. Since the surgery haven't had one attack like that thank heavens. But they never did tell how large it was,
they did tell me after wards that my aracnoid was plastered to my cerebelum and that fluid should be between the two but my fluid was blocked off.
Sorry can't be more help!!!
