I have a friend with FM who began drinking Green Tea. She noticed a slight difference in her FM symptoms. Anyone else notice this? I can't drink caffeine so I'd have to buy the decaf kind. Just seeing what others' opinions are on this subject........

does your friend have the same results when drinking decaf green tea? ask your friend if she would be willing to test it for you. would she try the de caf green tea for one month and let you know if she still feels better. if so, by all means try it.
green tea is loaded with the stimulant caffeine. stimulants have been proven to reduce the symptoms of fms. specifically the general feeling of fatigue. it is also a stimulant for the mind, creating a false sense of harmony and optimism. however, when you stop ingesting a stimulant there is a fall out that happens. buckets of pain along with withdrawal from the stimulant. caffeine is an especially rough ride. if your friend has been drinking this tea for more than two weeks forget asking her to do it. her body is already addicted and it would take at least 6 weeks for her to have any real findings. along with the pain she would endure during the withdrawal.
remember tho, no herb acts the same in two different humans. even from day to day i notice a change in the efficacy of the herbs i add to my life. our bodies are in constant change. so are plants. each is as unique as we are. purchasing herbs at a store does not ensure each package is the same as the rest. mother nature does not do anything exactly the same twice.
please let me know what the two of you do and how it works out.

I too am doing green tea and blueberries----it helps some with the brain fog.
I have started cymbalta, and it helps. The green tea I drink is decaf.
Good luck. I also have done accupuncture and it helps. Next month I'm going to start water aerbotics.

There is also a tea from South Africa called ROOIBUS ( roy -bus) tea and it has a ton more antioxidents than green tea and no caffiene. If you do a search on it you can find out a lot of info about it. You can buy it in more stores now , I even saw it at Walmart supercenter, Celestial Seasonings has one with pomegranite. Anyway, I have been drinking it daily for about 6 months...I do find that I am less fatigued, and less foggy that I was before. The South Africans have drunk this tea for years because of it's healing properties. PLUS, I think it tastes better than green tea does, and a touch of honey almost makes it taste like dessert!

Thanks DecLady, I will look for it next time I'm in the grocery store.

I bought some Tetley decaf green tea last night so I will see how that helps. Thanks for all the replies.
